Helpful Website When Dealing With Food Allergies

There are an estimated 12 million Americans who suffer from Food Allergies and an even greater number of people who have intolerances to certain foods.  The most common culprits are peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, fish, eggs, milk, wheat and soy products.  Since many of these foods are abundant in our food supply, trying to eliminate these foods from our diet can make cooking, food shopping and meal planning a real challenge.  Fortunately, there are some great websites out there to help sort through the fact vs. myths of food allergies.

One website that I find particularly helpful is www.foodallergy.org.  On this website you can find recipes, education materials, tips for what to look for when reading food labels and learn about hidden food sources for each allergen.  If you or someone you know has a food allergy or intolerance, this can be a great resource with reliable information.
